Temporary Footpath Closure
Footpath 1, part of King Charles III Castal Path, is temporarily closed whilst surface improvement works are undertaken between 23rd June and 27th July 2005. Please respect the closure as disruptions will cause delays and prolong the works, as well as increase the risk of accidents
West Sussex County Council have issued the following message:
The footpath is temporarily closed to allow WSCC appointed contractors to undertake surface improvements to the path, which will improve long-term accessibility.
We apologise for any inconvenience the closure may cause for its duration, and we politely request that the public respect the closure and do not bypass the ‘footpath closed’ signs.
An alternative route is available to continue journeys past the closed section. Please refer to the accompanying map for details.
Persons ignoring and bypassing the closure signs may be putting themselves, others, and the Contractors at risk of injury. In addition, the disruption to the contractor’s work will cause delays, which may prolong the length of the closure.
