Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Celebrations

West Wittering celebrates the Queens Diamond Jubilee – Monday, 4th June 2012

Working closely with local communities as a whole, West Wittering Estate is planning a 50’s style traditional family village fete. Starting at 12 noon at West Wittering car park, the event will involve a children’s tea party with Punch & Judy, magician and fun and games. For the adults, there will be hog roasts, a wine & beer tent, music from the Phoenix Big Band and a Last Night Proms sing-along, with the lighting of the Armada Beacon and a fireworks display to bring the evening to a close by 11.00pm.

The aim is to hold a local event, run by local people for local charities – and in particular, the Friends of the Witterings Health Centre. See here for poster.

We would encourage as many people as possible to enter the spirit of the event by attending in period dress, and to make this community event as enjoyable as possible and raise funds for our local charities.

Stalls will include tombola, raffles, smack-a-rat, skittles, hook-a-duck, second-hand books and stocks (sponges supplied, victims required…).

If you would like to run a charity stall in aid of your preferred charity, or on a commercial basis, we would like you to contact the Estate Office (514143). Above all, we would welcome your help to organise and then support what we hope to make a very memorable and unique occasion.
