Parish Council support was given to the community-led project to plant fruit and nut trees
Parish Council support was given to the community-led project to plant fruit and nut trees on the verges and green spaces of Summerfield Road. The initiative enhances the attractiveness of the street whilst providing "food-for-free" as well as benefits to sustainability and wildlife. The mix of trees includes a number of old Sussex apple varieties including Wadhurst Pippin, Crawley Beauty, Tinsley Quince and Saltcote Pippin. The trees were planted by enthusiastic volunteers of Chichester Harbour Conservancy and residents , which sees the project as an opportunity to enhance the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
