Subject: WSCC Rights of Way Inspections - suspended due coronavirus (Covid-19)
Dear Parish Clerk
I am writing to let you know that, following the Government’s guidance, the County Council has suspended it’s 15 month public rights of way (PRoW) inspection and maintenance programme. Reported issues will still be reviewed and prioritised and the Council will only take action where required to ensure public safety on the network. Other issues will be logged to be dealt with in the future when normal working practices are resumed.
PRoW problems reports can still be sent through the usual channels:
- Email prow@westsussex.gov.uk (this is generally preferred to contacting Access Rangers directly as they are extremely busy at this time)
May we take this opportunity to remind people to follow social distancing guidelines and keep at least two metres from people if you choose to use Public Rights of Way for your daily exercise. Please be aware others will have touched stiles, gates etc. and you should wash your hands thoroughly when you get home.
We will be regularly reviewing our practice and will let you know if anything changes.
Best wishes
Jane
