Mobile Waste Recycling restarts in Wittering

Initially , they will be running a two bin system. As a result, residents will be able to deliver green (garden) waste or wood waste to the sites. We will look to re-introduce the other waste streams as soon as possible.

The reason for limiting the inputs is to ensure social distancing through the suitable direction of residents.

In addition , both waste streams can be delivered direct to local recycling off takers from the mobile service , this avoids double handling at the Westhampnett transfer station.

 The dates for the next four months are below.

The site was closed temporarily in March to ensure the safety of residents and staff, and to limit the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

Social distancing measures will be in place when the sit reopens, the number of people visiting at any one time will be restricted and there may be limits on the waste which can be accepted.

A visit should only be undertaken if the journey can be considered essential.
