Marine Watch – Letter from Police

Dear All,

Please could I make you aware of the most recent incidents reported in Chichester Harbour.

  • Serial 552 31/08/10 Itchenor – Theft of 10ft Dinghy “Pennylane” in black marker on side. Tied to mooring.
  • Serial 1319 31/08/10 Bosham – Theft of 8ft Walker Bay Dinghy T/T Encore. Tied up.
  • Serial 1818 10/08/10: Nutbourne – Outboard motor engine Mercury F25 engine – Stolen from rear garden – engine was bolted to small boat. Two people were seen looking at boat 2 weeks ago.
  • Serial 499 10/08/10: Itchenor – Outboard stolen from dingy which was in the water – Yamaha Malta 2’5 HP blue – CCTV footage showing 2 x youths with the outboard.
  • Serial 1411 25/07/10: East Beach shore – small fishing tender stolen from beach. Boat on shingle secured to wall possible removed with bolt cutters. (BIC 245 IS model)
  • Serial 403 16/07/10 Itchenor Sailing Club – Theft of rear seat stolen from boat – seat was unbolted and lifted off.
  • Serial 419 16/07/10 Delling Lane Birdham – Theft of outboard motor Evenrude E Tec 90 new. Theft from secure yard. Gained by cutting chain lock secured to boat.
  • Serial 1173 12-07-10 Itchenor: Theft of trailer for dinghy parked in carpark at Itchenor Launch area – black iron trailer maked with owners boat number.
  • Serial 1463 23-05-2010   Emsworth Yacht Harbour.   Youths reported damaging boats.  Four taken into custody, however no damage was caused.
  • Serial  769 24-05-2010   Emsworth.      Items taken from boat, toolbox including tools, handle for bilge pump and oil can.
  • Serial 1055 24-05-2010  Birdham.        Dinghy stolen.  Seago 2.65m.  Colour Grey. Wooden backed outboard.  Bold white lettering on side of dinghy.
  • Serial 1475 25/05/2010. Birdham. Stolen boat trailer with swinging cradle. Seven Valley Trailers, with 2 speed winch. Cost £1200.00
