MINUTES of the Meeting of the Parish Council,held on Thursday 1st August 2013 in the Sports Pavilion,Rookwood Road, West Wittering, PO20 8LT

PRESENT: Mr K Martin, (Chairman) Mr C Pine, Mrs J Barrett, Mr D Sadler, Mr W Buckland, Mr Wright, and 1 member of the public. Cllr Montyn and Cllr Barrett were also in attendance.

221.        DECLARATIONS UNDER THE CODE OF CONDUCT

None.

222.        MR D SADLER

The Chairman welcomed Mr Sadler to the Council.

223.        PLANNING APPLICATIONS

The Council discussed the following planning applications;

224.        MINUTES AND MATTERS ARISING

On a proposal by Mr Pine and seconded by Mr Buckland, the minutes were agreed and signed by the Chairman.

225.        CORRESPONDENCE

(a)      Members noted items listed in the Clerks report had been circulated

(b)     Letter re Fire Alarm test contract

Members noted that the current contractor had failed to respond to the Councils queries in a satisfactory manner. On a proposal by Mr Wright, seconded by Mr Pine, it was agreed to obtain 3 competitive quotes for the servicing of the Fire alarm at the Pavilion.

(b)     On a proposal by Mr Buckland, and seconded by Mr. Pine payment of the above accounts was authorised by the Parish Council.

227.        OTHER ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION

(a)      Development Control Management – new proposals

Cllr Montyn informed the meeting that the Planning Advisory Service would be holding seminars ahead of the changes to development control procedures for Parishes. He also suggested that parishes monitor the progress of their DOM applications for the next few months.

Mr Wright asked Cllr Montyn how condition 19 relating to drainage at the Northfield site was not enforced during construction.

Cllr Barrett reminded members that the Peninsula Forum was meeting on 2nd September 2013.

228.        OPEN FORUM

Mr Buckland agreed to arrange a meeting of the Sportsfield WP with representatives from the Football Club regarding the siting of the tennis courts and football pitches including provision for youth pitches.

Mr Pine asked why Parking Enforcement Officers were patrolling in East Wittering on early closing days.

There being no further business for discussion, the meeting closed at 7.45pm.
