WEST WITTERING PARISH COUNCIL
MINUTES of the Meeting of the Parish Council,
Held on Thursday 2nd August 2010 in the Sports Pavilion,
Rookwood Road, West Wittering
PRESENT: Mr. R. Shrubb, (Vice Chairman) Mr. T. Tupper, Mr. J. Robertson, Mr. K. Smith, Mr. K. Martin and 12 members of the public.
74. APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE
Mr. Hutton, Mr. D Wright, Mr. W. Buckland and Mr. S. Colwell.
75. DECLARATIONS UNDER THE CODE OF CONDUCT
None.
76. PLANNING APPLICATIONS
Members considered the following planning applications. The Chairman opened the meeting to allow representatives of the owner of Thessaly to address the Council and also the planning consultant for the neighbouring property.
The decisions of the Council are set out below;

WW/10/02871/DOM Wildings, Cakeham Road West Wittering, Single storey extension.
NO OBJECTION
WW/10/02879/DOM Pagewood, East Strand West Wittering, Dormer, 5 no. rooflights and additional level to existing external staircase.

WW/10/02987/TCA Atherstone House Elms Lane West, Wittering, Notification of intention to reduce crowns by 30% and remove suppressed limbs from inside the crown on 2 no. Norwegian Maple trees (marked 1 and 2 on sketch plan.) Remove lowest boughs to give a clean bole to 5 metres on 1 no. Birch tree (marked tree 3 on sketch plan.) Remove 3 lowest boughs to give clean bole to 5 metres on 1 no. Ash tree (marked tree 4 on sketch plan.)

Replacement of existing flat roofs in North East corner with pitched roofs. Creation of new first floor accommodation within space created by new pitched roofs.

77. MINUTES
On a proposal by Mr. Smith, seconded by Mr. Tupper members unanimously approved the minutes and the Chairman duly signed them.
78. FINANCE
a) Accounts for payment were authorised as follows;

b) On a proposal by Mr. Tupper, and seconded by Mr. Smith, payment of the above accounts was authorised by the Parish Council.
79. CLERKS REMUNERATION
On a proposal by Mr. Smith, seconded by Mr. Tupper, members voted to exclude the Press and the Public in order to discuss this matter.
80. OPEN FORUM
Mr. Grey asked the Council about the planning application for low cost housing off Summerfield Road and was asked to send a copy of his comments to the Council. Mr. Morton asked the Council about a complaint raised by Mr. Smith regarding traffic generated by the Car Park. It was agreed to discuss this matter in September.
81. CLERKS SALARY
On a proposal by Mr. Shrubb, seconded by Mr. Martin, the Clerks remuneration was agreed as follows;
A one off payment of £1000 in waiver of part time pension rights accrued from 1.4.2004.
An ongoing payment of 5% of salary per year wef 1.4.2009 in lieu of part time pension contributions.
It was further agreed that the Finance Working Party would amend the Clerks Contract of Employment accordingly.
There being no further business for discussion the meeting closed at 9.00pm
