WEST WITTERING PARISH COUNCIL

MINUTES of the Annual Parish Assembly of the Parish Council held on Friday 22nd May 2009 at 7.30pm in the Memorial Hall, Elms Lane West Wittering

PRESENT: Mr. R Hutton, Mr. R. Shrubb, (Vice Chairman), Mr. D. Wright, Mr. K. Martin, Mr. W Buckland and 20 members of the Public. Cllr Pieter Montyn, and Cllr G Barratt were also in attendance.

1. APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE

Mr. T Tupper, Mr. J Robertson, Mr. S Colwell, Mr. D Hopson

2. MINUTES

On a proposal by Mr. Shrubb, seconded by Mr. Martin, the minutes were read by the Clerk, agreed as a true and correct record, and signed by the Chairman.

3. CHAIRMANS REPORT

Mr. Hutton read out the Chairman’s report, a copy of which is attached to these minutes.

On a proposal by Mr. Buckland, seconded by Mr. Martin, the report was adopted.

4. OPEN FORUM

Mr. Smith congratulated the Council on its efforts to look after the village of West Wittering. He was also pleased with the web site and relied on it for information. He queried some of the factual information regarding photographs, which the Council confirmed that it was correcting and also asked about the Councils practice of submitting draft minutes. Mrs. Smith questioned the Council on the Finance working Party and Mr. Martin responded by clarifying its role. Mr. Stafford asked the Council about boundary changes.

Presentation on the proposed low cost housing scheme at Summerfield Road by Mr Sam Irving, Chichester District Council and Mr Austin Wade, Hyde Martlett Homes.

Following the meeting there was a presentation and update on the progress of the proposal for low cost housing on the site off Summerfield Rd.

There being no further business the meeting closed at 9.15pm.
