The following people serve on the Parish Council:

  • Mr Richard Shrubb (Chairman)
    • Richard Shrubb was born and bred in West Wittering where he has spent most of his working life. He has been a Parish Councillor since 1986 and is the longest serving councillor. He became Chairman in 1987 and again in 2011. Particular interests include planning, management of parish assets the environment footpaths, and the general protection and enhancement of this unique village.
    • Working Party membership: Ex officio Member of all working parties, Chair of Snowhill Working Party, responsibility for budget.
  • Mr Keith Martin (Vice Chairman)
    • Resident of West Wittering since 1994 with a life long association with the village, Keith Martin is a qualified physicist who has spent much of his career in aviation and project finance.  He is director of a company providing residential, nursing and specialist care.
    • Keith Martin was a core member of the team that created the Village Design Statement in 2006 and was elected a Parish Councillor in 2007. He represents the Parish Council on the East Head Coastal Issues Advisory Group, chairs the West Wittering Flood Action Group and edits the Parish Council’s web site and newsletters. In 2011 he was elected to represent the Chichester District Association of Local Councils on the Chichester Harbour Conservancy Advisory Committee.
    • Working Party membership: Finance, Footway Lighting and Communications. Representive on: Chichester District Association of Local Councils and Peninsula Community Forum.
  • Mr Bill Buckland
    • Working Party membership: Emergency Planning, Transport. Representative on Manhood Parishes Road Safety Group
  • Mrs Charlotte Megeney
    • Charlotte Megeney moved to West Wittering in 1991 to join her husband who had been living here since 1978, having previously been a regular visitor to Snowhill Caravan site since the 60′s.
    • Charlotte qualified as a Chiropractor in 1986 and currently has a particular interest in all educational matters. She has worked as a Houseparent in a boarding school and was Chair of Governors at Kingsham Primary School in Chichester.

  • Mr Ian Parker
    • Ian Parker was born in Chapel Lane and goes back several generations in West Wittering. His father was a parish councillor and an active member of the football club and his mother still lives in the village. He has held senior management roles in public and private companies and now runs The Old House at Home pub with the help of his wife and children.
    • Ian is a sponsor of the cricket club and helps the local school PTA.
    • Working Party membership: Sportsfield Management, Emergency Planning, Communications. Representative on: CDC/Hyde Martlet Homes Project
  • Mr Chris Pine
    • Chris Pine has been resident in West Wittering for most of the last 50 years with family connections in the Witterings going back over 100 years. He is a consultant freelance archaeologist and director of his own archaeological contracts company undertaking archaeological surveys with a focus on Chichester and surrounding area.
    • Chris is conversant in all aspects of heritage management and associated planning procedures. He is a past Chairman of West Witttering Primary school PTA, and a core member of the West Wittering Village Design Statement team.
    • Married with two children who, like their dad, were educated in West Wittering and now in Chichester, Chris enjoys swimming, cycling, sailing, surfing and sea fishing …..basically enjoying and appreciating the fantastic family friendly environment that is West Wittering.
    • Working Party membership: Allotments, Footpaths and Open Spaces, Snowhill; Representative on: Poor Stevens Trustee and Sussex Association of Local Councils
  • Mrs Kerry Simmons
    • Kerry Simmons grew up in the Witterings and recently started a family here. She says she has joined the Parish Council to represent young families. Her interest is in the growth and development of West Wittering and in providing for our children and future generations.
    • Working Party membership: Footpaths and Open Spaces, Finance. Representative on Neighbourhood Management Forum
  • Mrs Sally Smith
    • Sally Smith has lived in the area since she was 18 and in the village since 1995. She says that she feels very lucky and privileged to live in such a beautiful area. She feels that as a Parish Councillor she can contribute by keeping in touch through listening to residents’ concerns and wishes.
    • Sally has recently set up her own estate agency after 25 years in the industry which brings her in to contact with many local people. For leisure she has worked an allotment for four years with fruit and vegetables but is still not self sufficient! She is also, with her husband and young family, a member of West Wittering Sailing Club. She describes sailing as a great way to recharge her batteries.

  • Mr Dermot Wright
    • Working Party membership: Sportsfield Management, Snowhill. Representative on: Memorial Hall, Church, Twinning, Neighbourhood Management Forum
